Topic: Cicatriz ESP vs. Tetragrammaton Posted: June 05 2010 at 10:51 |
I prefer Cicatriz, from my favorite album of all time.
What are your ideas/opinions on these two songs?

"Tetragrammaton" is the best song from The Mars Volta.

Cicatriz ESP, though Take the Veil beats them both.

Oh man, this is a tough one. But I have to go with Tetragrammaton. That song is simply incredible.

I agree, Take the Veil takes so many fantastic ideas and puts them in a short (ish) song, which is usuallythe opposite of what TMV does
If Day of the Baphomets had been here though, would've been a really tough choice

I actually find Tetragrammation a little w**ky... not my favourite from Amp. Cicatriz ESP is pretty awesome, though.
Edit: lol at filter

Voted for Tetragrammaton as being my favorite Mars Volta song, dramatic intro gives you instantly the thought: "this will be something great!" In my opinion, this song also represents Jon Theodore's sense of style at it's best, just listen to those ghost notes on those verses! The middle parts needs some listening to get inside, before the climax (Gas me the hind of your five legged snare tooth picks the eye but nothings there...) which leads the song to close the circle!

Both are among my favorite tMV songs. I think that Tetragrammaton narrowly makes it. I love the atmosphere.

Cicatriz by a small margin. De-Loused as a whole beats Amputecture by a small margin as well.

I went with Cicatrix, but I still find Cedric's voice to be too grating to really enjoy either song.
