Eruption of Focus is my favourite, and Plague of Lighthouse, of course. Big smile

Was very hard to me decide between Focus "Eruption" and Genesis "Supper's Ready" , both are masterpieces.  But I give my vote to "Eruption" .

I'm not a huge fan od Supper's Ready to be honest (at least at the moment ;p). The thing that puts me off is Peter doing the weird, bubblethroaty voices and the obnoxious organ during the "Apocalypse" section. Also, it's really difficult for me to pick a favorite 20+ min. suite, cause it changes all the time. Right now it's Memento z Banalnym Tryptykiem... before that it was Humanizzimo.

My vote goes to the Dutch masters and their instrumental suite, with the "volcanic" guitarwork of Mr Akkermann and "smouldering" organ work by Mr van Leer.

I love some of the other 23 minute epics too but Focus II/Moving Waves is one of the early albums I heard in my musical explorations - it swept me away then and still does...years before I knew anything of Suppers Ready or Nine Feet Underground.

The story may be different if "Echoes" was also listed - but for now those Dutch masters win through being closest to my musical heart...

"A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers", "Wassilissa" by Mother Gong (if only 22:28 can be forgiven; but it is such a great track) and "Lizard"

I'm not generally a fan of the "side long" suite, but, of these, easily "Nine Feet Underground"

2 or 3 nice ones up there but in the end Caravan's 9 Feet  is the winner.
