Yeah, North Korea is really screwed though, in a group with Brazil, Argentina and Ivory Coast

OK, having seen the first round of the group stage, I have managed to make a list of four major candidates: Brazil, Spain (downgraded from no.1 for the moment), Germany and Argentina. I don't see Holland, England and Italy as potential winners, but you can never know.

^ Yeah, they can be beaten with that strategy but, if Spain make it to the elimination stage, they will meet opponents more likely to play a more open game. So we'll see.

If Spain takes the second place they are gonna play (most probably) with Brasil at the next stage, which is not desirable
Really don't mind if you sit this one out.

Spain?!  Hahahaha, don't make me laugh.

On paper they have a fantastic team.  However, Fabregas was on the bench... why?

I watched them lose in math class today, quite enjoyed it

One of the Swiss players almost made such a gorgeous goal (which would have been the 2nd; it was near the end of the game)  where he dangled 3 defencemen and then shot it with the outside of his foot...POST.  DAMMIT

It would have been beautiful

I guess then it's a forgone conclusion that the US ain't gonna get it.  I really don't give a fig about sports, but what exactly is in the cup anyway?
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Argentina has had a very good start. If they continue like that, they’ll be hard to beat.

they (Spain) have my preference, but I voted Brazil, because a European team never won the WC outside Europe.
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword
