Nearly 18 years in the making...
In October 1992 at the request of their Japanese label Legend performed a special concert in their home town of Runcorn which was filmed for a broadcast concert video. The resultant video was called ‘Playing with Fire’ and saw limited release on VHS format. At the time Legend wanted to release it as a live CD, but finances didn’t allow. Approximately 2 years ago Steve Paine stumbled on the analogue video masters and the idea of releasing ‘Playing with Fire’ as a CD was re-born.
Playing with Fire captures the bands first live performance with the line up that was to complete Second Sight album and the live premieres of 4 of the songs from Second Sight alongside six of the tracks from their debut CD. It is rough and ready and resurrected from the original analogue source tapes, but it is nonetheless a real snapshot of the band at a crucial stage in their development.
