The design group in Britain that had been formed in 1968 did the work of various musicians' Cover Art. Of course, a lot of they worked concerning Prog Rock. The impressive part. Part where creativity is stirred up. In an avant-garde part, there might be individuality. I like to see the work of Cover Art that Hipgnosis did. My personal favorite is "Stranger In The Night". |

My favorite cover is Argus; my favorite album is probably The Lamb, which I'll choose over Going For the One based on quantity.

Wish You Were Here. Not as subtle as it probably should be, but too brilliant for me to care. Too bad the actual album doesn't live up to it.

That is a pretty funny cover. The work they did for the Lamb was outstanding and gets my vote. No doubt those guys did some of the best album artwork. Does anyone know if they're still at it? I also find it amusing that they really did set the guy on fire for Wish You Were Here. Edited by Slartibartfast - June 25 2010 at 04:58 |

I voted Argus. Classy cover.
Generally i'm not a fan of Hipgnosis. I find many of their covers disjointed with rather brutal symbolism.
I notice that so far three posts have stated a preference for Argus but it has only two votes.

I voted Argus, but it's Voice that would get my vote in the full poll.

I rather like the cover and the contents of the more recent Umphrey's McGee album Safety in Numbers

Me too. I think because it reminds me of a Hipgnosis album cover. "Believe the lie and it will all come true." |

Presence is one of my favorite covers ever. Perhaps #1.
I do also enjoy The Lamb, however.

"Wish You Were Here", with "The Lamb" as a close second. |
