Crap, I've already sent off my list, when I hear back I might send him a quick reply asking for this one to be included in it!

A good album, Mike. But I'm not a big fan of the vocals, not the singer, the melodies.

I'm hoping someone (one of you from this thread?) would make a history of Italian Prog video, just doing a narration.

Are there some good links online for such an essay?

I don't know of any vids on the subject, but if you have your reading glasses on, I'll wholeheartedly recommend Andrea's blogThumbs Up

Il Vaso di Pandora Thumbs Up  Thanks Andrea

Discovered this band from Italy recently from a friend who likes the heavier stuff, Doctor Cyclops.  Very pysch/heavy and english lyrics (similar sound to Black Sabbath).  Did not see them on PA unless in some Andrea's posts. Was curious if any of the Den had heard of them.

Errata Corrige have reformed and are signed to Black Widow records.
A new Rovescio della Medaglia Album is in the works (most likley not very Prog though)

Alessandro Corvaglia (La Maschera di Cera) is now a member of Delirium (IPG) and
will be on their new Album next year. He will also guest on the new Album by
Il Giardino Onirico.

That's not very good news as far as I am concerned... Delirium were my first prog band back in the early Seventies, and I still love them to this day. However, I am not a fan of Corvaglia's voice, though I recognize he's a good singer. Looking forward to their new album anyway! Maybe I will be positively surprised.

Just came away from the 'green flea' market with a copy of Pooh's Buona Fortuna for 5 bucks. Saw it's Italian, decent instrument list and nice cover. 1.38 on the ratings here - must've got a dud....
1981 release, all songs under 5 minutes, probably more pop than Prog........

LOL I should let Micky answer this one... I Pooh are here (in Prog Related) because they did release a couple of "proggy" (I hate that wordWink!) albums early in their career. Unfortunately, the one you got is not one of them. In any case, I dislike everything they did, because they were very popular in Italy when I was growing up, but I found their music cloying to say the least.

I hope it'll be about the level of Le Orme's Venerdi release - that kind of pop-with-chops I can tolerate........

Thoughts on this one?

Nuova Idea - In The Beginning

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=2150

I'll be honest, it's my favourite Nuova Idea album, and yes, that includes `Clowns'! I find the mix of harder psychedelic rock and dreamy group harmonies really special! What a lovely little album!
