I've had Tilt and Giro on vinyl since the seventies and enjoy both. Tilt does have a slight edge
but not by much. It would be five stars compared to four and a half stars.

A curiosity of 70's RPI. 2 albums "I Giganti : Terra In Bocca" and "The Showmen 2" exist in two versions. They are not remixes but different versions, with different arrangements, structure of songs, and for the Showmen 2 albums, different covers and names. It's quite unique and if you like the bands, it's a blessing.

This is one of those albums that I'm always waiting to hear for the next time, I was just listening to it a few days ago and just had to put it in again, it is not only my favorite Italian prog album but one of the top prog albums I know.
Anyone knows the From Butterfly To Cocoon DVD? It has a few great unreleased tracks in it.

The end of Mercanti Di Pazzie is one of the most beautiful moments of all RPI.

So did they bag the intended concept around Il Grande Belzoni planned a few years ago? They only released an EP, supposedly in anticipation of that project.

^^ Love that Branduardi album, but I also love his second. The several that follow are good, but they don't match the first two.

That Butterfly set is quite good.

I'll look forward to a new Arti e Mestieri album as well!

I have several of their live albums, all good, especially the one which has both a 1974 performance and a more recent show. Both are equally as good!

Now, can I asked what everyone's opinions on this ons is:

ARTI E MESTIERI - Giro Di Valzer Per Domani

It's the second album...Now, the debut `Tilt' is one of my favourite albums, I actually find it to be a real classic. A great mix of eclectic fusion, symphonic prog and even some light RPI elements too.

So maybe I'm just a bit too in love with the debut...but I don't enjoy this second album as much. The playing is still terrific, but I don't think it has as much of an `identity' as the first one. Sounds like a lot of other fusion bands. I don't like the vocal pieces as much on this one either.

Maybe I'm being unfair to it....

Love both of these albums, but I agree the first is better. The second could have been so much better had they better utilized the amazing voice of Gianfranco Gaza (from Procession)--he only appears on a couple tracks, and he seems almost an afterthought.
