Good review Sag, even if I do not share completely your enthusiasm for this disc. I know it's me, but modern RPI sounds so predictable.  "Too much prog" I will say.  "TOO MUCH PROG !? But what are you doing here duck ? " they say. Don't know. I think that I like your company.

You know I feel like you about the modern RPI, but there are very few that for some reason I do like. Big smile

I'm sure Schubert approves this.  Great 1970 pre prog album.

Love that album. There was a rumor about a second album to come
about last year. Sadly I never heard again from that (I've seen the proposed cover for that album allready in 2009)

Anybody feeling the love for Goblin again?

About to put ROLLER on for another spin. This album to me is pretty dam close to perfect. Maybe their very best? Oh it's tough to say.

Sagi, I liked your review of that album, I've never heard it, but it sounds rather good, so I'll investugate further!

Funny you mention this, Nick, because with all the nonsense I've got wrapping up away from here, I forgot to mention that Goblin is playing (again!) in Melbourne this Sunday!

I'm not going to lie, but this time around I'm going to be a total vinyl geek and lug along my `Roller' and `Il Reale Impero Britannico' LP's to get signed!

Last time I got my `Cherry Five' CD signed by the band, which was the `debut' of the band under a different name. Very Yes influenced instead, but really rather good, and gets better with every listen!

Hey Denizens, I've been gone for a bit--it's good to see you again!

Sagi and TheH, I share your enthusiasm for Distillerie di Malto! I hope that second album appears. (BTW, I've always been impressed with how on top of new releases TheH is. As good as Pierre is at finding obscure gems!)

That Reale Accademia di Musica album has been circulating around in bootleg form for 40 years. It was great to see it available as a download a few years ago, and now even better news that it's being released in the CD format!

Here's a title from Uruguay that sounds like it comes straight from RPI. Armando Tirelli's "El Profeta" from 1978. Other tracks available on YouTube if you're interested.
