Hi!
Besides Prog Metal, what kind of metal do you like?
I really like Heavy Metal, and I sometimes listen to some power metal, or some Epic doom metal.

You should have a Glam Metal option, even though I hate that subgenre. I would say Heavy Metal, but also Trash and a bit of everything.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I'm not a fan of metal in general at all. Without a progressive twist, I find it so one dimensional most of the time... It's funny to consider that despite metal being one of my favourite genres, I could neither call myself a fan, nor do I enjoy 98% of what I've heard. Still, no disrespect to the style - there are so many talented musicians in the field, it's hard not to tip your hat to it.

So let me suggest Aghast Insane to trash metal lovers.
They are often inspired by the darkest Italian novelist, Valerio Evangelisti who has wtitten the lyrics of their "Mater Terribilis" and has dedicated to them his last novel.

So let me suggest reading the Eymerich cicle, too (it has been translated into several lanuages).

I like Melodic Death Metal, but Brutal Death Metal doesn't do much for me. Symphonic metal can be considered progressive. I like all subgenres to a certain extent. Black metal can get pretty goddamn boring, though.

Tuatha de Danann are considered epic-metal. I suggested them for inclusion but they've been rejected.
Regardless the genre, give them a look.

I don't think they sound like waylander or Aes Dana....

Stating "I like prog metal but I also like heavy metal" seems too redundant for me (although I do understand that the Heavy Metal option surely stands for the classic metal acts. Mainly the NWOBHM bands). Because of that I will go with thrash metal. Megadeth and Sepultura being my favorites bands of the genre.

Doom for the most part, but also a couple of Death metal and Black metal bands.
