First, to the mods: thanks for making navigation easier in these subforums that have a ton of pages. I was able to go to pg. 144 easily just to see if there was a long-dormant but still interesting enough topic worth bumping, and when I came across this one the first thing I thought of was “The Persuaders”, a theme I always loved. I went through the entire thread only to find that someone had beat me to it. Very astute, richardh! Kudos to composer John Barry too of course.

Didn't a German detective TV series in the mid-1970s use Can's Spoon as its title theme? I already think much of their music sounds like background music from a 1970s action movie.

I know this is ancient history now, but for years I thought this music bore all the tell-tale signs of a calling card from Keith Emerson (right down to the sort of melodic ideas and analogue Korgy synth textures Keith was using during the 80's) Even now when I play the soundtrack album, part of me thinks that Stewart Copeland had demoniacally possessed Keith's soul in a some sort of weird hybrid Faustian pact where the only creature who went to Hell was leading actor Edward Woodward.

I've been reading this thread and I'd like to thank the person who posted the theme to 'Weekend World'. It was on at Sunday lunchtime, brings back the aroma of roast dinner and the thought of 'school tomorrow'
