Wow, thanks Lucas! That's quite a lot of homework for me! Clap

I'll let you know what were my favourites after I check your suggestions. Thumbs Up

Ever heard of Robert ''Tree'' Cody? They call him that because he's about as tall as a tree, but he plays the flute so gently and beautiful, I thought I would mention him here.

It's Native American flute, though, so I'm sure if that's what you're looking for or not.

The opening track The Shire from the album Bilbo by Pär Lindh & Bjorn Johansson has some nice flute in it. I Nattens Timma (Waltz of the Dark Riddle) by Landberk is also nice, but it's hard to tell if they're playing a real flute or a mellotron.

Would this fit the bill? I love this, and the album, Stone Flute, it's off. Was one of the best recommendations I've been given.

EDIT: I didn't read the opening post properly, so I don't think it will fit the bill (having "ethnic" qualities).

That's very good, thanks. The least energetic and based ethnic beats, the better for me (the second video I couldn't stomach).

Well, that kind of singing is not for everyone. You probably would not like to hear me overtone singing either.

I do like folk/ethnic music, but that was a bit out of place in the context of this thread LOL

I'm looking forward to seeing Hadouk Trio in concert Thumbs Up

Check out this instead. One of the most powerful voice ever :

Also, to stay on the topic, Simon Stanciu "Syrinx" (this nickname is a reference to Debussy), one of your fellow countryman, Alex Wink(he who collaborated with this guy from Yes, Patrick Moraz) has not be mentionned :

with Patrick Moraz :

Maybe more new age tuff, but Paul Horn (Into the pyramids and many others) and Deuter (Nirvana road) will fit; can't seek for clips of these on youtube now.

Nik Turner's "Xitintoday", on which he plays mostly flute, was also recorded inside the great pyramid. Flute simply sounds fantastic inside of it. An unknown gem which is highly recommended.

And what about a new release of Greek band Ciccada?

I know the opener is more etheral, but this is the only one song available on YouTube.
A Elbereth Gilthoniel
silivren penna míriel
o menel aglar elenath!
Na-chaered palan-díriel
o galadhremmin ennorath,
Fanuilos, le linnathon
nef aear, sí nef aearon!
