Another great 70s Aussie group. They released only one album in 75, which now is considered pretty obscure. But this group can be seen as the Australian ELP (because the main focus are the keyboards and bass, and because they were one of the few Aussie Symphonic prog groups at the time are among many reasons for the comparison).
I have the album if any teams are interested. Thanks! -Tim Edited by AmericanProgster - August 06 2010 at 22:58 |

I was going to suggest Chetarca, seems they have been already. Not cleared though yet. If anyone wants to hear the album it's here: http://grooveshark.com/#/artist/Chetarca/2122199
Fun Fact: The bassist became co-founder for Men At Work.

Was this one forgotten? Seems like a lot of time since it was august 2010 when they were suggested. I couldn't think of any better place for them then symph. http://www.discogs.com/Chetarca-Chetarca/release/2597095

They were rejected by crossover. Seeing as that's pretty much the only team I could see these guys fitting in, I'm not sure there's anywhere else to go. Sure, they have symphonic leanings, but it's wrought with pop/blues rock, so I don't think they'd have a chance there.

Chetarca is considered an AOR band leaded by a "Men at Work" member.
The only site that has them is PROGGNOSIS
They have their moments that remind me of ELP (Specially uin Oceanica suite), but not constant, for example Chetarca is very AORISH and Another Day is pure Blues based Rock (Sounds like Grand Funk Railroad) as well as "Death of a Rock Artist" Not a Symphonic candidate, IMHO a serious candidate for Prog Related for what I heard. It is very high quality AOR though. Most AOR makes me feel gross.
Update: After listening to that really long song, I'd agree with Prog Related for sure. Edited by Smurph - August 13 2012 at 22:55 |

I mean, if you listen to the first song, I can understand AOR.
But this should work somewhere on here.

And if Xover rejected them, it's difficult to see where they would fit in.
You've got more chance of shagging Marilyn Monroe tomorrow morning than getting them in symphonic (although, to be fair, they really don't fit there).

Steve from Wales is right. If it doesn't fit even to Cross, it won't budge in Symphonic.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

And yet, they are closer to Prog than SADO.

This is just an opinion, you forgot to add "IMO", which you've added in SADO thread. And besides, it ain't relevant to the discussion. We're discussing Chetarca, not SADO. Chetarca could be suggested to Prog-Related, this sounds like the best chance for them. |
