Excellent guitarist he was a component of some of the most famous Italian mainstream bands of the 60s and early 70s but with a personal taste for Hard Rock, Progressive and psychedelia.
His first solo album (Radius) was recorded in only 4 days in 1972.

Unfortunately I didn't find a link to the opening track "Rock N.1" that could be enough for his inclusion.
The second track of the album is a duet with Demetrio Stratos (Area). A blues-psych track.

Third track "Radius" is psychedelia with a touch of Hendrix. Unfortunately no link this time, but the heavy "Prima e dopo la scatola" is below:

The over 10 minutes "Area" is also on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4e9Lwb2iOfQ A bit more Hard-rock oriented.

The album's last track is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5OYZopcVbQ

His second album is more melodic. No longer Hard or psych..The Title track "Che Cosa Sei" is just good pop with a typical RPI flavour. Judge yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-jK7HozkaI&feature=related

The album contains some electronic and funky. The funkyest tracks are more or less what he did on the follwing albums until "Carta Straccia" which obtained a huge success in Italy and was featuring elements from Napoli Centrale and Perigeo if I remember correctly.

I'm suggesting his inclusion only for the debut album as the others are more pop-oriented.

I'm curious to hear what the PA people thinks

HI RPI specialists, I didn't spot that Formula 3 are already on PA. Alberto Radius was the guitarist of that trio that's less progressive, I think, than his solo works. Effectively at the beginning of the post I mentioned "some of the most famuos italian mainstream bands" I was including Formula3 in this definition.

Just wanted to inform that the RPI voted unanimously against admitting Radius to the subgenre.  Good stuff of course, but the general consensus is that the first album is primarily a hard rock affair, while the second and third heading even more towards the conventional/commercial even if prog influenced.  Oddly I think all of us preferred the 2nd and 3rd album’s material to the more acclaimed debut.  We also don’t feel he meets the present criteria for prog-related, though I understand that definition may change in the future.  If it does, and we feel a case can be made there, we will follow up.  For now, no one on the team feels compelled to lobby the PR team to add him.  I believe doing so requires an SC who feels strongly enough to prepare a detailed case to the PR team, if you can find one who believes Radius essential to PR, you could try that.

Either way we thank you for the suggestion!

Apart the bigs I think nobody is "essential". I was a bit surprised few days ago seeing a review of a Formula 3 album. I don't know if his following band, "Il Volo" is on PA or not. However he's already in as band member.

Statistically, just a 15% of my suggestions is accepted, but the reason why I do suggestion is to see what other people thinks and share info. I have discovered a number of interesting bands by reading the posts even if just few of them have been included as well.

I just hope that somebody can enjoy "my" bands as I'm currently enjoying Opa and Octopus Project still under evaluation.

Thanks for your time.

^ Don't let it put you off suggesting new bands in the future, we always appreciate the opportunity to hear bands/artists we're not familair with, although Todd already knew his solo work, it was new to me. Pesonally  I think most of us enjoyed his music but for the reasons outlined by Jim we just didn't feel he fiited in with RPI. Nevertheless, thanks for taking the time and trouble to bring him to our attention.Smile

By the way Il Volo is already on PA.

I think the post can be closed, but I don't know how to do it, maybe I don't have the permission. Can anybody help?

Well, if anybody is still reading this post, the debut album was featuring Area's Demetrio Stratos.
