It's not a simple question when I can't find a question mark in the sentence.

Depends.  Sometimes live is better, sometimes it isn't.  Sort of depends on the band.

When I saw all those capitals I thought it might be the title of a live album.

I also believe it depends on the band and the particular song (or even the particular live version). But on many bands I've found live versions more rewarding, since the song is often expanded and updated or upgraded on live versions, and is often played in a more powerful way. However, it might more easily have mistakes, and often enough the vocals are not as good as on studio.

I'd answer, but there's no question in your question.

I think the question are studio performances better than live ones (or not). The answer is,well some are and some aren't. Without more detail I can't say more than that really.

Does he want us to compare studio and live versions of the same track? Who knows?
