Not a name I would have chose, but not laughably bad.  That would be funny to see Portnoy's reaction if they changed their mind and added drums.

I fear for this album, but want it to be great.  I mean honestly, how many times has anyone re-played Insurgentes?  I for one won't be buying GFD on the strength of the predecessor. and while Heritage has some great moments there are far  too many that aren't.  I'd be amazed if they've saved their better material for a side-project but here's hoping. Maybe ithey've fooled us all and it'll turn out to be a mind-blowing metal-fest...

In a new interview with the Finnish rock mag Soundi Wilson said he's not too fond of that name and they'll possibly change that.

I actually liked it. I hope it's more like Grace for Drowning and less like Heritage.

I'm like SW more and more since his downfall with Deadwing/FOABP, but Akerfeldt just keeps going down and down since Ghost Reveries.

However, the musicians’ respective fanbases will be primed to appreciate the new output, with Wilson’s recent solo album, Grace for Drowning, and Opeth’s Heritage having brought them to a logical place to understand Storm Corrosion. This eponymous collection is almost viewed as one side of a musical triangle

I was looking forward to hearing it until I read all the details. I'm going to have very low expectations so I'm not so let down.

What we need are some audio clips.

Anyone know of anything released yet?

I was not going to buy GFD based on the previous album as well..........however, I'm quite glad I changed my mind, as GFD is excellent.  Still find the previous solo album to be quite terrible though.

It's definitely an interesting collaboration. I don't know what's going to sound like at all, but I read somewhere that it might be a cross between Grace For Drowning and Heritage. Sound's great! Thumbs Up Can't wait.
