Ferguson right now
Last night's Columbo was with Ross Martin (of Wild Wild West fame) as a murderous art critic. Not bad. I think this is early in the series.

I haven't seen that show in ages! My Dad was really big on the police/detective shows of the 70's like Columbo,McCloud,Kojak,The Streets of San Francisco,Berreta,Toma,Mannix,McMillan & Wife,etc.Me and him used to watch them all the time back in the day.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Are you sure? I thought that post-Hill Street Blues many tv drama became more real and gritty like NYPD Blue, Law & Order etc. or the Prime Suspect type series from over here. Sure there are some of the highly implausible and very fictional "Yeah, as if..." Miami Vice type shows, but there always was.

well yes, and certainly today's crime-scene dramas (U.S.) are quite graphic as
compared to 25 years ago, but I find the old Noir to be more stark and
direct, more of the street, of desperation, jealousy, real human
conditions. Watch an episode of The Untouchables and you'll see what I mean.

Got the DVD of the 1979 Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy series. Well, if I thought the movie from 2011 was excellent, the series just whacks it out of the park. Better in just so many ways...it helps, of course, that they have the luxury of time in a TV series to do justice to a complex Le Carre plot. Also helps that it was shot back in the day which gives it a very authentic dreary look, important for this story.

I love it. Seen it twice. Same with Smiley's People . Very true to the book and an extremely dignified performance by Alec Guinness.

Series 7 of Red Dwarf took awhile to sink in for me but I dig it.
I have finished series 1 of Misfits and like it so far,haven;t watched series 2 yet.
