Agreed, and I think the fairly limited budget made them all the more creative. I also think that the original has aged better than, say, TNG. I liked TNG a lot when it came out, though, but liked with later series, it got too talkie-talkie and far too much technobabble.

Star Trek TNG's Conspiracy was one of my favourites of that show, but I still prefer the amoeba like creatures in Operation --Annihilate! (re-watched this last night) that look like that fake vomit you can buy in gag stores to the stop-motion creation in TNG.

That episode was filmed on a college campus in California (not sure which one, but the archetecture was very modern-looking in the late-60s.
