I know, rather odd match, but which of the following do you like more?

I like Leaving Your Body Map, though I do not to regard Maudlin of the Well as highly as Kayo Dot. I used to love Red Queen to Gryphon Three, and I like all Gryphon albums (especially Midnight Mushrumps),
but it comes across to me as too formulaic -- the tracks following the
same structure over-much. I prefer to listen to the music of that album
mixed up with other Gryphon's tracks to bring more variety (I'm not one
who values consistency as much as others) - especially with my fave
Gryphon adaptation:
Anyway, Red Queen, especially for "Lament" and "Opening Move". I love each track independently, though. |

Wierd match, but Red Queen is a superb album and better than anything MOTW ever did.

I think I'm reading you right. A little more input and a little less output, I guess. I do suffer from verbal diarrhoea. Hope you liked the vid if you didn't know it, though. I was a little sad to see no one responding to your topic.... Edited by Logan - August 30 2010 at 17:04 |

Gryphon is a good band. But I voted Maudlin of the well. This album has growls.

Mikael Akerfeldt for fans of Opeth who don't like his growls (and generally the growls): If they don't like it then they are pussies.

Red Queen is a solid album but never hit me as hard as I expected. Leaving Your Body Map is perhaps Toby Driver's most definitive output, IMO. Not a Toby fanboy like many here, but MotW gets the nod.

Current Listening:
Heater valve kicking on. Snotty noses being blown. Griping. Maybe cookies coming out of the oven??? C is for cookie, and it is good enough for me. |
