Definitely Assault & Battery/Golden Void.  The first time I heard that mellotron intro I was hooked.
Honourable mentions...
Spirit of the Age, <span style="line-height: 1.2;">Quark, </span><span style="line-height: 1.2;">Magnu </span>

And 10,000 bonus points to the live version of Silver Machine on "The Friday Rock Show Sessions" where Lemmy greets the crowd with "Hello b*****ds!" Bowdown

I always thought it was a synth.

I'm pretty sure that's Lemmy croaking and not a synth LOL
Seriously though, I just listened to A&B and the intro and first verses sound like a tron and string synth layer.  When the song goes to the flute solo about 3 minutes in, the sound drastically changes and sounds like a full on string synth run through a heavy phase shift effect.  Also, Simon House is credited with both mellotron and keyboards so it could well be a layer...and I can't think of any other place on the album that sounds like a tron.
I think there's 'tron on 'The Demented Man'.....actually, check out the site 'Planet Mellotron' - Andy Thompson is very thorough with what tracks feature mellotron......on ANY album.

Ya, Planet Mellotron is a great site!  I just had a look and he says Assault & Battery begins with Lemmy's bass over a bed of Simon House 'tron strings...also The Demented man has plenty of Simon's 'tron string and choir  Thumbs Up

I'm pretty sure that's a mellotron at the start of Assault & Battery.

Not sure why I can't vote in poll but could be that I don't know what I'm doing.

Anyway should be Hurry on Sundown as it was produced by Dick Taylor but I've been seduced by Master of the Universe and Spirit of the Age. On balance it has to be Master of the Universe for longevity.

^ was shocked by the low number of votes too. Although I was hesitant because Death Trap had 0. It only seemed right to pick SID though.

Other:  "D-Rider"

But I'm a fan of pretty much any Hawkwind that comes my way.  It's just all so entertaining.

"High Rise" or "Hawkwind Does Comfortably Numb". (It doesn't sound exactly like it, just similar, and better!)

I am very partial to the Calvert era (which I guess comes from when I first saw them in 77) and its a tough, tough choice (along with 'others') so Orgone Accumulator it is.  Not quite that era as Calvert was a sort of guest for 'Space Ritual' but its wonderful delivery from Calvert, that churning, powerful riff underpinned by Lemmy and Simon King: Hawkwind at their brilliant best!
