Welcome to Round 2 Division 16 of Battle of the Prog Bands!  This time, our two contenders are Tool and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.  Vote for your favorite, and the band with the most votes will move onto Round 3.  Please do not vote unless you have listened to at least one album by both artists.

Here is the tournament thus far:

Schedule for Upcoming Matches (Suggested by Rune2000)
Round 3 Division 1 - September 14
Round 3 Division 2 - September 19
Round 3 Division 3 - September 22
Round 3 Division 4 - September 26

I can't vote as I haven't listened to a Tool album.  That said, I still know that I like GY!BE better based on the very little I've heard.

I'm closer to liking Tool than I am to liking GY!BE, but I don't really like either, so no vote.  I used to be a big fan of Tool, though, and I still own everything from Undertow up to 10,000 Days.

I don't have any Tool, so I won't vote, but I hate not giving a vote to GYBE anyway. LOL

An interesting matchup. It's like an alternative, dirty Dream Theater versus an innovative, experimental Pink Floyd. Yeah i'm reaching here but GYBE is all about interesting ideas whereas Tool are more technical.
I like both a lot.

This round officially went from one of my favorites to the one I can't stand now since Kayo Dot, Devin Townsend, Isis, Sigur Ros, and Ulver are all better than both of these bands. Kayo Dot and Devin Townsend by MILES

...You may as well have asked me which leg I wanted to keep.

Ultimately I had to go with Godspeed. But I would've voted for Tool in almost any other matchup.

Of the two, GY!BE, but this side of the draw failed when Isis or Devy never made it.

I like GY!BE, but Tool are one of the greatest modern bands ever, especially live.
