The winner will meet Rush, so I'm afraid this result is not relevant.Ermm

I like Godspeed, and haven't liked any Tool I've heard yet (that said, I have never heard a full album of Tool, and am open to track recommendations if they're on youtube).

If GY!BE loses a battle of prog to Tool, I'm afraid the world might spin out of orbit.

"Do you think the end of the world is coming because GY!BE is losing?"

"Chris H says it's the end of time.  He says that America's rivers are going dry.  The interest is up, the stock market's down.  You guys have to be careful walking around here at night.  This, this is the perfect place to get jumped."

"But do you think the end of the world is coming?"

"No.  So says Chris H, but, I don't believe what he says."

Not a Tool fan at all. I do really love F# A# Infinity and Skinny Fists though. Easy vote for me.

This is true, but only if you think that nothing in reality is beautiful!

For a long time I've thought that the phrase "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is an extremely pessimistic one. For the sake of my will to live, I have to believe that the world itself is beautiful, but it's up to the beholder to understand this beauty. Realizing the beauty in some things may require, for example, a change in the beholder's perspective, attitude or even personal knowledge, but I think it's rather egotistical to insinuate that it's the beholder who in a way "created" that beauty. Because of this, it actually could be argued that some music is more beautiful than some other IMHO.

If you think that GY!BE's music isn't really beautiful, you probably won't mind if I say that their music is complete bullsh*t (which YOU happen to find pretty)!

I dislike both of these bands. I thought about voting for the one I dislike least, but I decided just not to vote at all.

GY!BE by a long shot....a very long one at that. I can barely stand Tool at all. I really only like Lateralus and a couple songs outside of that album, but everything else from them is awful.

Would you like some Bailey's?

Not sure how Godspeed is "prog" in any way. Not only that but there are literally a million "post" bands that sound just like them. There was nothing quite like ÆNIMA or Lateralus when they were released and still isn't. Love them or hate them there is no denying they have a distinct sound.  Besides all that the actual musical traits are actually associated with prog. I.E. structure, time signatures, musicianship, etc. Every album (besides the last perhaps) has seen a huge progression and change in sound.

Sad to see them go, but we all know King Crimson is the golden boy of the forum. Only one way this will all end.

If you don't perceive a unique and very distingued sonority and structure in Godspeed, it's because you didn't listen carefully...
