***WARNING, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS DURING THE THREAD, IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME DO NOT READ***

I had originally heard some good stuff about the game so I bought it, and it was good for the first few levels. Then somewhere around the Mexico part things were getting so much better! The game started having emotion and feel and you were starting to connect with John. Then, when you come back to the USA, due to a stupid mistake I made I read part of a spoiler talking about Edgar Ross. I only saw the name Edgar Ross and it said that you could throw his wife in the river, so when I saw his name on the map, I knew something was gonna happen. Then, when that ending came, it was really hard to hold back the tears. You were already too connected to John to not be really saddened by what happened at the barn!

What did you think?

I think I need to upgrade to a Next Gen console before I can give an opinion.
Red Dead Revolver was pretty solid game, though.

I think you already know what I think Gonna go for Awesome Game, as it's definitely not the best I've played. It's pretty damn near perfect, though.

My sons like it but skinning animals seems to be the main reason for them too.

To give a more serious answer, no it isn't the best shooter ever. There were a lot of things I didn't like, namely the auto-focus...especially in the online play. You pretty much have to constantly barrel roll to break the auto-focus. Also the guns seemed a bit lacking for me, I know there was plenty to choose from but I think they included some stranger guns that didn't really fit and excluded some of the popular period pieces. Other than that, the story was fantastic and really interesting/emotionally involving and there wwas just sooooo much stuff to do outside of the story with the side missions, the gambling, the arm wrestling, etc. As for the skinning animals and picking flowers and defending Indians and whatnot, that stuff was a big selling point for me because you just can't do half of what you can in Red Dead in any other game, and that is what makes it awesome.

I went with best game. Sure, there are some flaws, but the co-op play, the awesome multiplayer, and of course the single player (which IMO has the most amazing story ever), they're too good for me to say it isn't more than perfect.

It takes to long to get going.. It's a good game but GTA it is not. I traded it in.
