Banzai from Belgium. Excellent prog with lots of Hammond and piano. They put out only one album called Hora Nata and that's kinda sad cause they did have a lot of potential. You gotta check it, cause it's just great. The vocals are sung with a massively thick accent but thankfully there aren't many vocal moments on the album.

from outside the UK. Isn't that exactly where of the great prog came from. Sure was...

anyhow

Italy
Battiato, Osanna, Area

Germany
ADII, Can

France
Magma, Gong

those 7 pretty much smoke 99% of what came from the UK and with Yes somewhere in that mix are 7 of my 8 favorite prog bands/artists.

That is very difficult for me LOL. There are, of course, bands like The Flower Kings (Sweden) with a decent discography, which I quite like, but I would not go so far to call them my favourites. There are a lot of single albums which I think are stellar albums, like Clearlight Symphony (France), the last album of Nemo (France), or the previous album of Unreal City (Italy), but because I am not familiar with the rest of their discography it is hard for me to call them favourite bands. So this leaves me with:

Paatos (Sweden)
Ekseption (Netherlands)
Reve General (mostly non-English Europeans with one Japanese)
Novalis (Germany)
Arachnoid (France)
Morte Macabre (Sweden)
Univers Zero (Belgium)
Magma (France)
Anekdoten (Sweden)
The Samurai of Prog (Finland-based with one US American)
Universal Totem Orchestra (Italy)
The Plastic People of the Universe (Czech Republic)
U˛ Jsme Doma (Czech Republic)
