My vote, therefore, is "Other: one of that bunch".

I like this list a lot better.LOL

Somehow I'm not surprised. LOL

The Univers Zero debut really depresses me and I've heard Heresie is even darker...Shocked
Big thumbs up for the Muffins' Manna album.  The Frith era stuff is rather grating.

It's darker but i wouldn't say more depressing.Scary is the word. I always play it at Halloween along with Shub Niggurath.

Love that list myself, but the most obvious band for me is Art Zoyd, which I'm voting other for (I consider it to be a great band).  I love all of Art Zoyd's albums during the period, but if I have to choose one, I will give it to Generation Sans Futur, or maybe Symphonie Pour Le Jour... or maybe Musique Pour L'Odysee.  Another that could take it is Geinoh Yamashirogumi's Osorezan.  And Zamla Mammaz Manna's Familjesprickor.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

Going with A Farewell To Kings for this poll...that album is just so incredible, especially for the 1976-1980 era. I even find the weakest track, Madrigal, to be great as it fits the album very well. Hemispheres and A Trick Of The Tail would follow AFTK.

Would you like some Bailey's?

In general I'm totally floydian, but Moonmadness is the only one in the list still in my poor 4GB  mp3 reader.
Curiosity killed a cat, Schroedinger only half.

So many fantastic albums in the late 70s.  The albums by Rush, UK and Eloy deserve a mention.

However two of my all-time top three are here Tongue so I've narrowed it down to those, Going For The One and Animals.  Can I decide between them?  No Confused.

Lean years, aren´t it? Punk-rock and new wave attack, King Crimson on hiatus, less or more weak albums on your list.

I voted for OTHER, namely:

I think it's a good VdGG album, except for the long reggea jamsession. I voted for the introvert masterpiece called Moonmadness.

Why on Earth would you exclude perhaps the greatest album of the time frame you established for this poll - Genesis' A Trick of the Tail? A HUGE oversight. Do come along, won't you?
