Why is this band (or project as you like) credited as
Prog-Metal? CK's music is probably as far away from metal as you
could possibly be.

Chroma Key is NOT prog metal.Kevin Moore left DT because of musical differences.He wanted to get away from the prog metal sound and experiment.I really like CK,and also OSI(great album,what a lineup).
