Wandering Minstrel is still the most hi-fi format out there.
My other avatar is a Porsche

I voted for MP3 @320 kbps for its practicality, versatility and value for money.

I do like vinyl and I have hundreds of records, most of which get played regularly. But let's face it: 99% of gainfully employed middle-class homeowners end up having to listen to the music while doing some other stuff (such as traveling, doing paper-/house-/yard work etc). In which case, playing a vinyl version would be impossible and/or will not contribute to the overall musical experience. 

CDs may give you a marginally better sound quality than lossy formats like the MP3, but considering that I can stick all my albums onto a $100.00 MP3 player the size of small dumb phone ...

Depends on the technical level or the quality of the instruments of said Minstrel.
