I seemed to have missed this poll. I went with Big Fun, I've always liked that one, as opposed to BB which grew on me over time.

Same.

I actually loved Big Fun from first spin, but have come to really enjoy Bitches Brew.  That said, I still prefer Big Fun and Get Up With It to Bitches Brew.

I know that this an old poll, but been revived twice, but I am quite surprised to see the total number of votes.  I wouldn't have thought Big Fun well-enough known to the PA crowd for this many forum users to have a preference.

Checks database:

4.24 | 239 ratings Bitches Brew
1970

4.31 | 39 ratings Big Fun
1974

14 more people have taken the time to vote in this poll than all of the Big Fun ratings, which is not to say that knowing both one should not choose Bitches Brew as clearly posters in this poll have chosen BB who do know both (and BB is a hugely important/ influential album to electric jazz), but I do wonder if a fair amount of voters voted without having both albums.

I love both but went with Large Amusement.
I recently bought a vinyl version and it was a real treat revisiting the album.
I am also a huge sucker for psychedelic music, and this album just blows me away with it's saucy usage of Indian instrumentation.

I don't really like either as a whole, but Ill go with Big Fun if for no other reason because of Great Expectations.

Both are great but Bitches Brew got the ball rolling and had more exposure.

My favourite connection to Bitches Brew was the first time my now ex-mother-in law spent an afternoon with my my now ex-wife and she played BB for her. Apparently she wasn't impressed and told my now ex-wife that she didn't think this was 'normal' music and that she didn't think our marriage would last. Happily she was right on both counts!  :)

BB is the album that got me into jazz fusion, so that gets my vote.
I consider drone metal to be progressive...
