LOL That's exactly what my dad would say! He loves Opeth's music, but can't stand the growling!

Anyway, my vote goes to Opeth by a landslide. I like Riverside (a lot), but they just aren't nearly as awesome as Opeth. Big smile

Had to think about this one for a while. I really love Riverside (plus I'm part Polish!), but I'm compelled to vote for Opeth just because I've been listening to them for so much longer. I think if Riverside put out one more album that is as strong as their previous releases, they'll really match Opeth's level.

Both bands create some of the greatest, most emotional, and most sophisticated progressive metal ever. However, Opeth's pioneering style and immense impact makes them the obvious choice; they've relased at least four absolute masterpieces.

The growling is one of the highlights of Opeth's music, IMO.

I love Riverside but Opeth is just out of this world. I didn't liked metal and growling before i've heard of Opeth and now it's one of the band I listen the most. I say OPETH

Really don't mind if you sit this one out.

I feared this is where Riverside will go out. Well, at least we'll go down with some pride. They beat PoS, so it's not too bad.

Riverside is fine, Opeth is brilliant.
Looking at the remaining players in the battle, they only lose to Floyd, Crimson for me.
With Rush it will be a toss-up.
