I mean both founder guitarists of  two Great Prog bands are somewhat underrated, aren´t it?

The main difference between the two is that YES improved astronomically upon P. Banks' replacement while the quality of GENESIS' music decreased somewhat upon Phillips' departure.  I'm a Phillips fanboy!Clap

Anthony Phillip for sure. I don't think Genesis decreased at his departure, but it went in a very different direction, whereas Steve Howe's guitar made yes a much better band.

Genesis obviously created seminal works after Phillips, but I think he's the most gifted composer the band ever had.

As a guitar player, Peter Banks. His album "Instinct" shows that he's a very capable versatile guitar player. So is Ant, but as a guitar player I like Banks more, so I voted for Banks.
