I've actually heard both in the last two days as I've been on the road and trying to listen to stuff that hasn't bee in the CD player for quite some time. What I found was that there's a consistency in the sound of SB that removes any sense of surprise. By that I mean they're albums are all starting to sound the same to me. I also had the Flower Kings Space Revolver and The Rainmaker on and quite frankly they put SB to shame. So no vote for me on this one. It was cool to discover them in the mid nineties both for the name and their first few albums. They could have stopped after Day for Night and that would have been fine by me.

I absolutely LOVE V, but so far the only song I've heard from X is "Edge of the In-Between," which I enjoyed very much. I guess I'll have to go buy the new one now. |

It's hard to vote against the album that includes At The End Of The Day (IMHO the best epic from The Beard, by far), But right now I'll go X

I have to say that X is one of the best SB albums in a long while but V just edges it for me.

I'm going X on this poll. I love the bookends on V but the middle leaves me a little dry. On the other hand, X is solid the whole way through.
