Hmm...my two least favorite of the "Big 8" starting things off. LOL

I don't know, they both have good and bad tracks.  Octopus has Advent of Panurge and Knots as the biggest draw to me, IaGH has Inmate's Lullaby and the title track and the Runaway, so I guess it wins.

Octopus by a long shot for me. Other than Dogs Life and River, every track on it is great to my ears. The only track on IAGH I am in love with is the title track.

Octopus hooked me on GG and was at one point my favourite, but IaGH has better stood the test of time. Even though I disliked it at first, I find myself going back to it more often now.

Octopus has some great music on it, but the more, I think, consistently good In a Glass House is my choice. It's remained a much fresher and more interesting album to my ears -- also has stood the test of time better for me.  Octopus is not an album that I really would want to listen to all the way through.

Octopus is simply amazing.  Even the quaint "Dog's Life" is so cool if you listen closely to the choices of instrumentation and style of mini-melodies.  They have mimicked in these choices what "sounds" like a dog's thought process.  It hilarious but they have captured the essence the doofy, free spirited dog emotion/thought in the music.  Listen again and you can hear in the parts the personality of man's best friend.

Maybe I'm nuts but that's what I hear.  LOL

I love every track on the album.

In a glass house is the only album I don't own. So no vote for me.

Gentle Giant has so many great albums, it's hard to say which one is the best, but I'll pick Octopus this time, even though In a Glass House is a great one.

I liked Octopus more than In A Glass House.

Would you like some Bailey's?

There is no other band that I have tried so hard to like.  Most bands that I don't like I can't be bothered to make the effort. With Gentle Giant I can see that there is something that I really ought to like but somehow, no matter how hard I try, it just doesn't work for me.

I have recently bought all of their classic albums (for the third time in most cases) and given them all a good work out but they have only advanced to the "OK" category. I will probably keep trying.  Power and the Glory is currently my favourite BTW.
