I think I'm missing something. It's very very innovative but it sounds like you're at a country club where the residents slowly turn into zombies.

I'm serious. Every time I hear that song. Please explain.

You probably don't like avant garde music, more than anything.

No I do. And It's not that I don't like the song. I do like it. It just seems like it needs an explanation. That make more sense?

I'm assuming you mean from GY!BE. That's a great song, but you either like it or not. Maybe you'll like some parts but not so much others.
Your description of the song is your own unique interpretation, and the fact that that song inspired you to think of that makes it a meaningful experience.

The only Providence that matters is the King Crimson piece.

Now then, 73-74 Crimso was renowned for launching into improvised sections during its concerts. This tendency was already presented in the studio/live Starless and Bible Black album. The inclusion of Providence on Red is merely a continuation of the pattern. I myself find it a tad middling compared to other improvs from the period, but its still a prime example of why the Wetton/Cross/Bruford/Fripp configuration was so outstanding.

Yes, and is the namesake of the King Crimson track.

It is cool - but the name of the school is Providence College.  Smile

Yes it's from the Red Album. The trippy violin solo.

Providence is the only reason I didn't give the Red album 5 stars

Probably one of the worst improvisations they ever saw fit to release c/f those found on Starless and Bible Black which are nothing short of brilliant.
