Very easy - Riverside. Orphaned Land is kind of Middle Eastern folk influenced pop-metal, not even near to best prog metal bands

After hearing Orphaned Land's Never Ending Way of or Warrior album and Riverside's Second Life Syndrome, I actually enjoy Orphaned Land more.  Since I haven't heard many albums from either, I am not going to vote.

If I was allowed to vote. I would have voted for Riverside, but I guess its not fair to Orphaned Land since I have not listened to anything by them. So I guess it's good that I couldn't vote. Gonna listen to Orphaned Land now. Placeholder for Riverside in the event that I don't like Orphaned Land.

Haven't heard Orphaned Land, so no vote. But they would have to be really something to stop me from voting for Riverside.

Mabool and sahara are two great albums though

necroing threads?............sorry, mr no-necroing officer....

i just stated an opinion like everyone does in this forum. what is exactly the problem?

orphaned land versus riverside - folk, death, doom metal versus progressive rock/metal.  in my opinion not exactly comparable. so people vote on the the one they prefer. Like i did on riverside. At least  i can write something consciously because i know and like both bands.

Equal. Both carry very different styles of prog metal, and since I am a fan of both I'd say their equal.
2 quality bands, but I've give the uniqueness vote to Orphanland. Not too many bands from the middle east that can bring it like they can! Really infuse their cultural instruments so well with their music.

Still equal though cause I think RIVERSIDE Is Poland's best.

Hmmmm....Quite an unknown band Vs. Very popular band? I wonder what's the score gonna be...
I have every album by both bands and as much as I love Riverside, Orphaned Land for my taste is better in every possible way.

Their next album is gonna be on grander scale. Huge Orchestra and choirs. I'm buying it for sure.

Quote Orphaned Land is kind of Middle Eastern folk influenced pop-metal

No way. Orphaned Land is something like Dio-era Rainbow with growls and genuine Middle Eastern musical instruments.

RAINBOW RIIIIIIIIIIIIISING!!!! Stargazer anyone? Yup. I associate any hard rock influences to be traced back to the great RAINBOW of 1975-1976. incredible.
