Interesting band. First sample is strongly post-rock influeneced (but not post rock IMO), second one (in Petrovaradjinska Tvrdjava?)and third one are more space rock. Possibly, for evaluation it will be better to have more songs (not live videos), but from above samples I think avant isn't best place for the band.Maybe psyche/space?

Funny, I stumbled upon this band's Myspace last week and have been enjoying their music, which seems a mixture of elements (jazz, space-rock, psychedelic elements, ambient-ish, disco etc), which is why I think also the Eclectic team should have a listen.
A very enjoyable listen!

Zdravo! Live videos are from Demo Fest in Banja Luka, Bosnia, not from Petrovaradinska Trvrdjava, but this is also an ancient fortress from the great time of Habsburg Empire, so it looks similiar. Sadly enough, I think there are not more videos as good as Spectar as well,  because here, for young and uncommercial bands as Tripcycle, this is too expensive stuff to be produced . Maybe you are right that psyche space could be a better space for them.
Živeli!

Now I'm checking their MySpace samples ...

Clap

Wonderful stuffs, indeed they have definite essence of Space, Avant, Jazz, Funk, etc. etc. (Vang is my fave!)
Do support Assaf's opinion, find they can be fit for Eclectic.

That's funny, I thought of Petrovaradin too.LOL

This is a hard nut to crack. Unique and bizarre music.

At moments, it sounds so experimental it falls without the scope of this web site - which is experimental, but not Prog Rock. On the other hand, I might see it fit in avant prog and there's a strong spleen of Art Rock in overall palette. There's even same jazz fusion thrown in (as stated in their myspace influences). Some post-rock mood surely.

But there's much more under the surface. This is carefully crafted, and logical (and very clever too)  evolution of the existing school - if I know anything about the Serbian scene. There are traces of Darkwood Dub, Neocekivana Sila, Vroom and other trip-hop/dub/psych/jam/space/whatever bands emerged from the area. Even those pop-rock guitar moments that remind of U2 are not incidental, they're implicit quotations of Disciplina Kičme, another cult experimental band from the 80's. Geek

However, if the origins were innovative, experimental and arguably prog, this one sums them up.

This one is actually one of those bands 100% worth of a pure Eclectic Prog tag which are rarely seen these days in our sub. LOL

To cut the crap, I'm giving the thumbs up; let's wait and see what my team mates have to say.

Please do not be hasty Svetonio, Eclectic Team are so busy in PA and their "real" life that they need more time to evaluate Tripcycle. Wink
