I like them both. Both of them have pretty miserable lows, but their highs are each terrific.

Great poll actually Both exceptional talents so I voted for both. From a personal taste POV I would have gone with Bowie but still interesting and time will tell what the polls say :-)

Based on pure musical ability, soulfulness, eccentricity and proficiency, Prince wins outright.
Based on judiciousness regarding quality over quantity, selection of sidemen and craftsmanship, Bowie takes the cake.
Without either of them, the world would be a far less musical place. Voted for both.

I only have two Princes unless you count the Miles Davis album. I have a huge portion of Bowie's stuff. Prince will not get much respect I suspect.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I'm myself an amateur musician who is not worthy of tuning Prince's guitar. And Prince himself is not worthy of holding Bowie's microphone.
