On December 19, Portnoy announced that he's on his way to Tennessee to work on a new album with Neal Morse.

I'm looking forward to hearing about it. Any thoughts?

I don't understand when people think so, I am not trying to be disrespectful but come on, have a look at the last two DT albums.

Anyway, this is some great news, Neal and Mike are real geniuses

I am also looking forward to that. It was a bit of a surprise though - both DT rejecting Portnoy and Morse wanting to do another solo album. My only hopes are that this collaboration will result in another brilliant release like Sola Scriptura was.

So is this related to the project with Steve Morse and Dave LaRue? or is that a seperate thing?

^ This is separate.  This is a NM solo while the other is group thing that will fit into a nice little window of everyones schedule.

That's good. I would be so disappointed if that weren't the case. I'm more pumped for Dregsatlantic than I am for anything else.

That being said, it's good that Neal is writing more, but is Testimony 2 really necessary? I thought the first one told a rather full and complete testimony.

Honestly, I think Portnoy should release a solo album. Really.

Even though he has a huge ego, he wouldn't start arguing with other people if he had full control of the project; therefore I believe he could write some quite enjoyable music. He just needs to give his friends a call and ask them to guest on it.

I thought the same thing too honestly.  Hopefully it won't be too repetitive.

Maybe it's about him becoming an atheist? Then on Testimony 3 he becomes Christian again, and so on.

Hey, it may be too late now since Rick died, but if Roger Waters and David Gilmour can be playing on stage together in 2010...

The first testimony album was very good, especially the live DVD, even though the cheesy lyrics.
I hope the next one will bring great music again :]

He asked DT if he could come back... they told him to hit the road. LOL

Mike Portnoy and Neal Morse are a match made in heaven! Have you not heard Transatlantic's Whirlwind?
These guys are true genius!
