Hi Everyone,
 
I am in the Sydney, Australia band Meniscus and I thought I would let you all know that we are recording our second EP next month!
 
For those of you who haven't heard or seen us, we have several clips on our youtube channel - www.youtube.com/user/meniscusmusic.  I saw that our last EP was reviewed here favourably so we're very greatful for that!  We hope that you'll find our next release as good or even better! :)

yeah I'm really looking forward to the next EP Cameron! I'm the one who you may know from my blog, allmediareviews and signed the Meniscus facebook page the other day asking about if the EP will have any more insect sounds?

Haha no, there won't be any long insect pieces but you never know :)

We would've liked to do a full length but just don't have the finances unfortunately!

Just giving you a quick update!  We have finished mixing our new recording so the mastering will begin mid next week so we hope that in the next few weeks we will have it pressed and ready for action!
 
When we are a little closer to the release date, i'll give you another update!  :)

We've got an official launch date for our upcoming album finally!  The album is entitled "war of currents"  and will be launched on July 15th.
 
We'll be putting up some samples of the tracks soon on our website etc so we'll let you know when they are available for a listen!

You beat me to it! I too have had torn meniscus and though I like the music, the name is difficult to take.

That sounds pretty nasty indeed!  Would it help ease your pain if we named a song Cortico Steroid :)
 
How long is/was the recovery time for something like that anyway?

It's an outpatient procedure that leaves the region of the knee sore for about a month. You're never the same because they snip away torn cartilage and then tell you not to ever jog or run again. As for me, I still ski (due to mishaps, the very reason for my damaged meniscuses) though I'm pretty much delegated to the bunny slopes. And after three of these ops (my orthopedist thinks I should have a fourth - don't they all), I can only go on long walks for exercise. Best advice? Don't take your meniscus for granted.

This (War of Currents) is sublime. Post-Rock using great dynamics, samples, and guitar textures. And not exactly stereotypical, as this record doesn't go on too long being only 6 songs, and around 35 minutes. Tasteful, moody, flowing debut lp from one of the best new bands doing "Post" music. And along with Tangled Thoughts of Leaving, and some others, these guys support the great music scene in Australia, namely doing "Post," "progressive," or other arty forms of rock music.
