This list is awesome. Jon Theodore! That guy rips on those two TMV albums. He was really integral to TMV's early sound; Thomas never came close in my opinion.

Theodore indeed was a serious force in band's sound. He played with an actual style, like Bruford and Harrison.

Plus, unlike Pridgen, he has more dynamics and sense of "movement". He really leads the pieces places and is integral to songs like Cygnus, Tetragrammaton and Roulette Dares.

Quickly became one of my favorite drummers after listening to Deloused a couple of times.

Guys like Bill Bruford and Zoltan Czorz shouldn't count. They're really jazz drummers that happened to be in prog bands. That's not really fair.

Do you really think that Mick Pointer is a better drummer than Ian Mosley? Also, what difference does it make as a drummer if Mike Portnoy is playing for Transatlantic or Dream Theater?

You're disqualifiying Bruford and Czorz because they're jazz drummers?  Shouldn't it just be a matter of how they played in a prog band that counts?  Their backgrounds shouldn't really matter.  Bruford may have had some jazz training, but his work with Yes and KC was groundsbreaking and most of it bore little resemblance to jazz.

Three of the best with last names beginning with "B" - Barlow, Bozzio, and Bruford.  Rounded out to five with Phil Collins and Mike Mangini...

Presumably Jon Hiseman is out as well

Czorz is a massive talent although I do feel he is a bit too laid back in the way he plays , perhaps that is down to his Jazz background?

Eerily close to my top 5. Although I would exchange Mangini for Lenny White.
