Thought i would mention Hans Bathelt, the original drummer for Triumvirat
He never gets mentioned when drummers are discussed in PA, and he should be
Not even in my top five (though pretty close to it), he is very good

In no particular order:

Mick Pointer
Guy Evans
Paul Cook
Phil Ehart
Mike Portnoy (As a member of Transatlantic)

Guys like Bill Bruford and Zoltan Czorz shouldn't count. They're really jazz drummers that happened to be in prog bands. That's not really fair.

SmileÜberdrummer was cool. German for a notch better than the rest. I bet if we asked Neil Peart to name his 5 top prog drummers we´d all be surprised.

Not a fan of metal, so I'll go with the classics:
Phil Collins
Bill Bruford
Carl Palmer
Billy Cobham
Neil Peart (I have no originality)
It's funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen.

For strictly progressive rock drummers, I'd have to go with:
1. Bill Bruford
2. Phil Collins
3.  Gavin Harrison
4.  Danny Carey
5. Pat Mastelotto

However, if I expand the list to include jazz-rock drummers then the list becomes:
1. Dennis Chambers
2. Billy Cobham
3. Lenny White
4. Narada Michael Walden
5. Omar Hakim

I'd include Bruford and Harrison in the Jazz-Rock drummers.
