Victor Peraino's Kingdom Come is a band/project created by Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come's keyboardist Victor Peraino, who somehow manage to keep this name after Arthur Brown's band dissolved.

Under this moniker they recorded only one album "No Man's Land" in 1975. It's great space/psych recording in the vain of last ABKC album "Journey". Lots of synths, mellotron and some organ.

Now VPKC are under evaluation in Psych / Space Team and very controversial.
Myspace us Victor Peraino's Kingdom Come
At least, it may be difficult for them to be cleared in Psych.

Doesn't an artist need to be on PA to be interviewed here?

Can we/Do we interview non-PA artists?  I could be wrong but I thought our Interview rolls were PA-only.

Nope. My rules as the editor/evil dictator, which I have sorted out with the powersthatis, means we can interview persons we find adds value to the scene and/or to PA and their readers. That also means artists, record labels (Black Widow Records), gig promotors, magazines (see the Classic Rock Presents Prog interview) and anyone else who adds value. There will be some more of these interviews coming up in 2011.

It's all about the product which is all about adding knowledge to the scene to the benefit of yourself, your children, your grandchildren, your grand-grandchildren and your grand-grand-grandchildren.  Smile

In any case; Victor Peraino was integral in the Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come (whose Victor is continuing under his own name) and the interview will give us this story/knowledge.

Smile

Now checking "No Man's Land" ... wonderful texture indeed. Clap

However, lots of songs are too AOR-ish and indie-flavoursome to be approved as a Psych Progressive (except "Empire Of Steel" and "Lady Of The Morning" ... terrific two!).

Consider they may be into PA (regardless of my previous "NO"), and vote "MOVE (to Crossover)".

Cool

No sign of them in Crossover's chart at progfreak.com - looks like the 'move' has stalled for the time being.

Looks like a failure to move again. I'll alert the crossover team.

And the general consensus is that there are indeed two great tracks on his album, which are:

"Lady Of The Morning":

And the magnificent "Empires of Steel", performed here live at the Motor City Music Factory:

...in which Victor Peraino makes Rick Wakeman look more like Victor Meldrew in comparison!!

But most of the rest of it is AOR based, with some psych essence (apart from the oriental sounding fourth track 'Tru'), and the votes cast so far (three) are for Prog Related, which I think there should be a reasonable chance of success with on this occasion, if we can get a friendly S.C. to propose them, that is.

If no joy with PR, however, I would change my vote to 'yes'. This artist does definitely belong on the site, I feel. Thumbs Up

"After about 40 years, Victor and Arthur decide to collaborate again, resurrecting the project Kingdom Come: in this new musical adventure, reproduce in a new guise some of the best songs included in "No Man's Land" (Demon of Love, Sun Sets Sail, Empires of Steel), take up the theme of the wonderful "Time Captives" from "Journey" turning it into a cross-section sidereal enriched by the magnificence of space keyboards, revitalize in a progressive key two old classics like "Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood" and "I Put a Spell On You "... but they also offer some brand new compositions (We Only Come to Help You, Future, the title track, Walk with Angels) deploying an odyssey of lovely sounds, underpinned by the omnipresent as ever presence of Mellotron, Moog, VCS3, in an uninterrupted flow of emotions."

Smile

Edit: Crossover team now has a new member - Jason (Second Life Syndrome), so he could also settle this as well as Diego.
