Topic: Who will reach 5000 first?? Posted: January 29 2011 at 16:19 |
Who will reach 5000 reviews first ? That is the question the Asian betting syndicates, the pension funds in USA and the bookmakers are asking themselves. Millions of dollars are being risked here. So, who will reach 5000 reviews first ?
(the way the alternatives has been presented reflects the odds offered from five representative bookmakers)

I want a newfangled young wolf in the game, so I'm voting for Karl.

The guys in the top three are still far ahead, but it's a long way to 5000. I bet that their saturation point will be reached (Mellotron Storm will be the first to post his 4000th review). Bonnek, toroddfuglesteg and Conor Fynes will be good options here. Outsider: Evolver. No vote yet.

I'll go with two outsiders. Either Roger Ebert or Gene Shalit.

Indeed, I'd have voted for you, if you'd been on that list
once you'll reach retirement (that's 6 months from now ), you'll do two or three reviews a day and soon eat away at the gap between you and the #1 spot.. It'll (the gap) melt like a ice cube in a single malt in the afternoon sun

Conor would be a good bet but he'll probably fall in love and disappear for many years, then when the kids are grown up and the wife has left he will return with a vengence never before seen on this site.Or something like that.

A possible scenario indeed. But which way it goes, the more I think of it, the more I am convinced that Conor will be the most likely candidate to be the first to post review #5000. I think that he will pass that young brash who entered his forties recently soon enough.

If I ever had children, I could probably do what Andy Warhol did and make a review factory where I force my children to listen to prog albums and review them for me for 14 hours a day.

I'm actually thinking Alan (ColorOfMoney) has a chance at this, the rate he's been going.

He does nearly 100 every week, so that's quite possible
