Hello!

Do you know any bands similar to Control Denied?

I decided to ask here because my findings disappointed me. I can only find some power metal bands or artists which are overloaded by technical parts.

Could you please help me?

Obviously DEATH, but check out Pestilence "Spheres", Atheist "Unquestionable Presence" and "Elements"; old school death metal in the vein of DEATH. If you're looking for the clean epic metal vocals, pretty much any and all Symphony X records will do you good. Masterplan is an epic power metal band from Germany that you'll probably enjoy if you like the melodic side of DEATH/Control Denied.

Chuck Schuldiner is arguably my greatest inspiration, great to see this thread!

Try to listen Nocturnus "The Key" and "Thresholds", technical death metal from the early 90īs

Nocturnus was great, I'd actually suggest "Thresholds" for a more progressive twist. Anything by the band Believer is great, and Gorguts takes the cake for me Tongue
