I grew up being taught that a cold is not sufficient reason to stay home from school or work.  But as I get older I find that colds hit me harder, and I do end up having to take a sick day when it reaches its peak.

I've never been sick with anything contagious so far at work, but I do have a chronic illness that gives me a couple of bad days a year, and I stay home on those occasions. No need to go to work and vomit there while I can do that at home and crawl back into bed.

Everything else (flu, etc) I would normally just suck it up and go to work, but people do have a valid point about spreading germs.

I won't miss a day of work unless I'm so sick that I'm totally useless.

It depends.

If I have something important at school going on, then I usually rough it out. (I rarely get sick and when I do, it's usually half a day, a day at most).

Usually I like to think I would prefer to stay home... but at the end of a day spent at home, I usually feel pretty crappy.

I never call in sick. I would have to be literally unable to walk to do so. Cold's are easy. Stop being wusses.

First option. Unless I'm really sick.
