I am very proud to officially announce here that ELOY are back!

The'ye playing two festivals this summer in Germany:
Night of the Prog-Festival at Loreley
Burg Herzberg

The band members are now:
Frank Bornemann (guit, voc)
Steve Mann (guit)
Michael Gerlach (keys)

More stage appearances are under 'discussion'.
The bands webpage will soon get an update and the fanclub is preparing a forum.

That's very good news, but too bad I'll be in basic training for the US Navy by that time.  Even if I wasn't doing that, I wouldn't be able to afford the trip to Germany to see my favorite band play live, so here's to hoping that they have the wisdom to produce a DVD that chronicles these shows.

As much as I love this band, I've gotta say that their transition into the 21st century has been pretty slow; it took forever to put up a proper website and release a DVD.  That's not to say I am ungrateful.  Quite the opposite.  It just could have been done in a quicker fashion.  Putting up a forum is good news, too; Eloy is the only band I know that doesn't have a message board.

Great, maybe a prog fest will get them to play in North America, which then may get them to play other fests as well like Jazz or Bluesfest that feature heavy metal acts or rap acts. Caught Steve Hackett, Renaissance, Babe Ruth at the Bluesfest and they were terrific
