Jordan Rudess played a Piano concert in Tarrytown, NY at Tarrytown Music Hall. The show lasted about 2 1/2 hours and it consisted of several guest performers including Eren Basbug, a Turkish teenager who arranged Dream Theater songs for a full orchestra... for fun. He is only 18 years old and Rudess mentioned how he was asking him for composition advice! They wrote several songs together in which they played on stage that night. the performance was brilliant! The piano was synthesized through a Virtual instrument which Rudess ran through a Macbook. There were 3 pianos in a "U" formation with the opening facing the audience. The theater had a capacity of around 500. the show didn't sell out but the audience consisted of mostly die-hard DT fans.

James LaBrie joined Rudess and Basbug for a few songs at the end and Rudess and LaBrie performed "Space Dye Vest" off the Album Awake. Rudess performed several Porcupine Tree songs (Lazarus, and another that escapes me at the moment!) as well with his side project from the Middle-East Project RnL. He also mentioned how many of the performers in the show were avid fans of Steve Wilson.

Great show. long drive home though Dead
