I love the new Amplifier album Octopus.  Absolutely wonderful.

Anyway - Fractal was recorded during the same time as Octopus.  It is free to download from the Amplifier Bandcamp website: http://amplifier.bandcamp.com/album/fractal-ep

By way of information regarding the EP:

We recorded Fractal at the same time as The Octopus at The Chapel Studios.

A lot of people ask us how we write songs - Fractal is an insight into exactly how we do that.

It is purely improvised, and for any of you that have seen Amplifier playing live,  it will probably be reminiscent of the times we improvise between songs.

We really like this record - partly because, aesthetically, it is very very pure -

But mostly because it didn't take 4 years to get it together.

Anyway -

We hope you enjoy it.

Never heard of them, but I will certainly check this EP out.

Alright - listened to this EP all the way through 3 times now.

Always amazed that bands can improvise and make music like this.

The Octopus album is wonderful.  2 hours of great new music.  To now have another album, albeit a short one, recorded during the same period of time and released just weeks later is a huge and unexpected bonus.

Download it, enjoy it and then get out and buy Octopus.

It sounds very ambient/electronic. It was a huge surprise that there are no lyrics!
