Yes, they are, but I read recently, on this subforum (unfortunatly I forget at which suggeston exactly), thats OK if one band sells CD(s) by themselfs. Is that rule changed?

That's true, but I didn't see any link on their page for purchasing the album. BTW you can delete a post of yours, if it's the last post in the thread (now you can't anymore here because I posted after you).

Harmonium, I'd say that you have right. That EP is just promo CD, what they made to look like officaly issued. They are waiting for some major label which is gonna ( as the band hope ) issued a full lenght stuff.

BTW, I dont understand the politics of these young uncommercial (more or less progressive) bands here in Serbia Confused I mean, if they have enough money to make a promo stuff, if they are able to pay a studio costs, for a nice artwork , of course for their equipment too -  to have a progressive band is not a cheap hobby thats for sure; then why they dont pay few hundreds euros for registrated their own record label while they are wating for some major label's offer, who probably never is gonna be so kind to issue their stuff because of the fact that very few people are listening to this kind of music in Serbia now. For example that Fitnes CD what I suggested earlier - it wasnt issued  by some private record label who is to care to sell those CDs, it is issued officialy by goverment owned and  sponzored Student Culture centre - their records division - who don't care about how sell goes Unhappy.

Regards!

They don't even need to start a label, they could use the money to print CDs and sell them on Bandcamp! That's the easiest method to do DIY business in music until you get signed by a label. However being signed by a label isn't necessarily a good thing...

Cool stuff! When is your full length album coming out? The PMT usually won't fully eval a band based only on an EP because of the small amount of material to base an evaluation on.

Prog metal team will sometimes evaluate a band with just an EP out if the team members are unanimous regarding the progressive quality of the music it contains. This thread for Corelia saw them cleared and added based solely on a 7-track EP with just 30 minutes of music on it: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=81348. However, Equinox only have four tracks totalling just over 25 minutes at the moment, so maybe it would be pushing things a bit too far in this case!

The four tracks recorded so far are all available to stream on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/equinoxserbia

I think the main problem, while of course its progressiveness being of importance as well, is simply how much material we have available to see if their whole "sound" if you will is progressive enough for inclusion. Corelia (although I wasn't on the PMT at that point yet) was mainly there was 30 mins of material available for listening, which is the length of some full length records back in "the day". Of course I can't speak for the rest of the team, but I agree that 4 tracks and 25 mins might not be enough, hence my question of when the full length was coming out.

Hey guys!

Andy, our first full lenght album is recorded few months ago and currently mixing in Boston. I think it could be released in the first few months of 2012, but we are not 100% sure yet. I got to say i didnt understood everything you said up there. Please correct me if im wrong but, if the band dont have a full lenght album it cant have a topic?

Its really ok, if you say so we can close this and i can come back and "ressurect" :-) the topic when the album is out. I didnt want to interrupt or breaking the rules or anything like that. Please accept my honest apology.

Hi Zeljko, you're welcome to 'bump' this thread when your album is released in a couple of months. Good luck with the mix!

No need to apologize, it's more an unspoken "code", if you will, than a rule. Smile
