They presumably took their inspirations from the razor clam:

Cane toads are the creatures that actually have no purpose.

Aren't Mallard ducks supposed to be a massive fan of Homosexual Necrophilia?

I never got the big deal about spiders, at least non poisonous ones. I think spiders are cool, and no, not just because I grew up on Spiderman. LOL

I find all living creatures to be fascinating in their own way.

But yeah Cockroaches, I hate those little b*stards. They have never physically hurt me but I just think they're disgusting.

Wasps on the other hand are the raging douchebags of the insect world. They're not like mosquitos or fleas, they don't come after you because they need anything from you. They're just like "Yeah motherf*cker I'm gonna sting the sh*t out of you just because I can bitch, I'm a motherf*ckin wasp."

You left out the horse-fly. Their bite is nearly as painful as a wasp’s, and they go after you because they want your blood, which means they are harder to avoid than wasps.

But the worst bug IMO isn’t an insect:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tick

I’ve been bitten quite a few times, but luckily I never got the Lyme disease. What is the purpose of these critters anyway? As far as I can see, the only bird that eats them is the Guineafowl, and it’s not exactly common outside Africa (and to be honest, I don’t know if it’s very common in Africa either).

I say nothing is nothing

Gotta be the Louisiana state bird. The mosquito. Dishonorable mention to silverfish.
