Topic: The 'Heavy' Yes Tracks Posted: February 28 2011 at 03:09 |
Above i selected what i consider to be the Heaviest Yes songs. All post 70's so it's a fair vote.
I'll vote for Machine Messiah, which i'm sure most people with. But i also love Spirit of Survival

From this list I'm glad to be the first one to vote for "Owner Of A Lonely Heart". The whole of 90125 is outstanding.

Interesting choices for "heavy". Personally I can't see OOALH as at all heavy, but "Parallels" on the other hand weighs a metaphorical ton!

Machine Messiah, no contest. I love the contrast between the dark, heavy parts and the lighter, more melodic moments. Very nice lyrics too.

I was thinking about 70's songs but if i added a 70's song it'd be no contest

I never liked Machine Messiah as much as others on this site--and it was my least fav on Drama---except for Steves great guitar work---it's heavy but no Gates---

As a matter of fact, I like all of this songs pretty much... well, except New State of Mind, which if I recall is nice too, but not as much as the other 4. And it's a hard choice between the other 4... I'm feeling rather inclined towards Machine Messiah, but Shock to the System is great for me too, as well as Spirit of Survival.

Machine Messiah. One of my all-time favorite Yes tracks from one of my favorite Yes albums. That line-up should have stuck together longer.

Heart of the Sunrise? Gates of Delirium? Changes?.........
All heavier than most of these songs..... but yes, Machine Messiah is the heaviest (and the best!)

I'll be the first to vote for New State of Mind. I actually don't mind that entire album, to be honest.
