Ah, but you have of course Carlos Santana, the excellent prog folk bands Nirgal Vallis and Elfonia, and the criminally underrated symph band Codice. And speaking of Elfonia, you also have the lovely and very talented Marcela Bovio who not only sings for Elfonia but also for the Dutch band Stream of Passion and has appeared on a couple of Ayreon's records and the Gathering's last album. |

This only goes to show that I don't know a lot of good prog albums from the States, and there are none that I know of from my native land (never been fond of the idea of Russian prog), so I know only Prog-Related'uns. Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings And Food Talking Heads - Fear Of Music Talking Heads - Remain In Light Frank Zappa - Freak Out Harold Budd - Pavilion Of Dreams Harold Budd And Brian Eno - Ambient 2: The Plateaux Of Mirror Terry Riley - A Rainbow In Curved Air The Doors - The Doors The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love David Byrne And Brian Eno - My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts Edit: Jesus, my whole prog collection is mostly from Brits ... r-r-r-r-r-r-r.

I don't think I could narrow my vast collection down to a list of 10, but I'm pretty sure #1 would be El Cielo by dredg.

From Scotland:
Beggars Opera - Act One Beggars Opera - Waters of Change Beggars Opera - Pathfinder Chou Pahrot - live Clouds - Scrapbook Other contenders might include Jack Bruce, Pallas, Citizen Cain, Fish, Abel Ganz, Comedy of Errors and Ian Anderson but as I happen to deem the foregoing as irredeemably sh*te I have elected to omit them. |

I'm not familliar with a whole lot of Canadian prog (I suppose I'll get around to checking out Harmonium one day) so my list would just be Rush

Australia
not necessarily in this order, and only one album per band:
Syrius - Devil's Masquerade (they spent a couple of years here and recorded the album here...)
Tully - Tully
Airlord - Clockwork Revenge (they moved here and recorded the album here...)
Company Caine - Product of a Broken Reality
Extradition - Hush
Spectrum - Milesago
Sebastian Hardie - Four Moments
Madden & Harris - Fool's Paradise
Rainbow Theatre - Fantasy of Horses
Daevid Allen - Good Morning (he is Australian...even if he spent most of his career elsewhere, and recorded this in Spain...)
If I'm not allowed to include Syrius, Airlord or Daevid Allen, their places can be taken by:
Ariel - A Strange Fantastic Dream
Various Artists - Morning of the Earth (particularly for Tamam Shud's contributions- better than their own studio albums)
Fanny Adams - Fanny Adams

I would add The Reasoning and Karnataka as worthy of inclusion from Wales. |
